For example, if a shopper searches for a fridge, Related Category suggestions like Stand-alone fridge or Mini fridge will appear to help shoppers quickly refine their search intent. By leveraging automation and data mining, this feature ensures the most relevant category recommendations appear for each search so shoppers can easily explore product options within a desired category, find what they're looking for, and make a faster purchase.

In Autocomplete, Related Category suggestions will appear with images of the most popular item within that category.
For example, if someone searches for a microwave, they can specify if they want a Microwave oven, Regular microwave, or Microwave with grill directly within the search box.
There are two ways you can use Related Categories as intent clarification tiles on the SERP. They can work as smart category filters above the existing filters or as category page navigation to the most relevant categories.
In both cases, if a shopper searches for audio player, category recommendations for Headphones, Speakers, or Record players will appear to help guide shoppers to their desired product lists.
If a shopper clicks on a category recommendation in Autocomplete or a Related Category intent-clarification tile, they will be directed to a specific category page for their selection.
For example, if someone searches for microwave, they can click on the Microwave with a grill recommendation and easily view the most relevant products offered within that specific category on one page.
If a shopper clicks on a suggestion in the Recommended Category module above filters on the SERP, this placement works like an attribute filter and immediately narrows down SERP results to products within a desired category directly on the search page.
For example, if a shopper searches for audio player, and clicks the category recommendation for Headphones, the SERP will immediately update results to show the most relevant headphones available in the store.
