Prefixbox Privacy Policy

This privacy policy (the “Policy”) governs data and information collected by Prefixbox Zrt. (hereinafter referred to as „Prefixbox”). This policy also describes the choices available to you regarding the use of, your access to, and how to update and correct your personal information.

PREFIXBOX, CUSTOMERS, USERS

Prefixbox software („Prefixbox” or „we”) is incorporated into webshops and collects information regarding the behavior of visitors on the webshop in order to augment the search box in order to help shoppers find what they are looking for. The webshop visitors are referred to as „users” hereinafter.

Our customers are webshops who register on our self-service portal. They are hereinafter referred to as „Customer” or „you”.

INFORMATION PREFIXBOX COLLECTS

Prefixbox handles the following personal data:

You provide your name, email address, and telephone number and other personal data if necessary when registering with Prefixbox in order for us to identify and can get in contact with you.

While providing services, Prefixbox acquires additional information regarding our service, including data related to your use of Prefixbox. e.g. website URL.

The users IP address is not stored by Prefixbox.

The collected user information is not personal data since Prefixbox is not able to identify the end users in any way and does not receive any personal information regarding the end users from our customers.

USE OF PERSONAL DATA

Prefixbox may use your Personal Data:

  • To manage your access to the services provided by Prefixbox;
  • To manage Prefixbox's relationship with you, including the administration of contracts, orders and invoices (which may include access to your account, your usage data for support purposes and your billing data);
  • To provide promotional communications regarding Prefixbox's products and services;
  • To assemble statistics regarding the use of Prefixbox's website, products and services;
  • And to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations.

You expressly give your consent for the collection and use of your personal data in compliance with this Privacy Policy.

RESTRICTIONS ON USE AND TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA

Prefixbox will share your personal information with third parties only in the way described in this Privacy Statement.

Prefixbox will not sell, transfer, assign, or grant access to your Personal Data to any third party, except if required by law or binding administrative decision.

Prefixbox may provide your personal information to third party contractors and vendors, operating under Prefixbox's direction who have an appropriate legal obligation to Prefixbox and who are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide services to help Prefixbox with its business activities.

Prefixbox may also disclose your personal information to any other third party with your prior consent.

DATA SECURITY

Prefixbox will maintain appropriate and adequate security measures and policies designed to protect your Personal Data from disclosure to third parties. Prefixbox will promptly notify you as soon as is reasonably practicable if it discovers or suspects any security vulnerabilities or unauthorized access to the Prefixbox Services and will provide such information and cooperation as may be reasonably required to enable you to mitigate, remediate, and address such vulnerabilities, unauthorized access, or breach. If reasonable in the event of an actual security breach Prefixbox will issue a report at such time that describes: (i) the date of the security breach; (ii) a description of the disclosures involved in the security breach; and, (iii) the steps Prefixbox has taken to investigate the security breach, and mitigate potential harm. If your data is provided to Prefixbox pursuant to your agreement with a Prefixbox customer, you acknowledge that, except to the extent provided by applicable law, you will look to that customer for any liability regarding your Personal Data.

DATA RETENTION

Prefixbox retains Personal Data during the term of your use of the Prefixbox website and services and two years thereafter except:

  • as necessary or appropriate to protect Prefixbox's interests, including as part of any actual or potential dispute

You have certain rights regarding your personal information according to GDPR and local law. You have the right to access and correct or request the removal or restriction of any of your Personal Data or object to the use of it. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority and you can ask to receive your personal information in a usable electronic format and transmit it to a third party (right to data portability). COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

Prefixbox and its partners use cookies or similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the website, track user's movements around the website, and gather demographic information about its user base as a whole. Visitor tracking

We use Lead Forensics to track website activity, including IP address, visit date and duration, and visited web pages. SUBSCRIPTIONS

If Prefixbox offers a newsletter and you choose to subscribe, Prefixbox will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. You may choose to stop receiving newsletters or marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails, accessing the email preferences in your account settings page, or contacting us at support@prefixbox.com.

MODIFICATIONS

Prefixbox reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. The revisions will be effective upon Prefixbox's publication of the revised policy on the Prefixbox website. If Prefixbox makes any material changes, it will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on this website prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of the Prefixbox services expressly indicates your acceptance of Prefixbox's then-current Privacy Policy and your consent to Prefixbox's collection of Personal Data.
